About Me

TJ Floyd is the pastor of New Hermon Baptist Church in Pisgah, Alabama. His ministry is focused on discipleship and church education. He holds a B.S. in Interdisciplinary Studies from Athens State University and has completed advanced coursework in mathematics and applied electronics engineering at Jacksonville State University. TJ is currently pursuing an M.Div. in Christian Apologetics & Philosophy at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. His main research interests include Late Medieval & Early Modern Scholasticism, Systematic Theology, and the Philosophy of Science.

Outside of his professional and academic endeavors, TJ enjoys spending time with his family and pursuing a variety of hobbies, including playing music (piano, organ, and guitar), weightlifting, woodworking, blacksmithing, and bushcraft. As an independent researcher and investigator, he also maintains longstanding interests in natural science, history, archaeology, and anomalous phenomena.

Purpose

Via Scholatica exists to advance the recovery of Classical Theology and Philosophy, fostering the renewal of Christian orthodoxy and the preservation of Western Civilization.

Vision

To cultivate a renewal of Classical Theology and Philosophy in service to the Church by preserving the inheritance of Christian orthodoxy and Western civilization through faithful scholarship, doctrinal clarity, and cultural reformation.
